Irene’s Lost and Found

Irene’s Lost and Found

Dusk descending, last light leaving.
Juice is gone but not defeating.
Kids in streets, playing friendly.
A few lawn chairs, grouping splendidly.
Talking, laughing, like who knows when.
~
Something lost, something found,
On this soggy bit of ground.
~
Stretching day, till its gone.
Now we wait, dark chirping lawn.
For the sun, that brilliant dawn.
And will it come, that power source?
And bring alive our toys, routine?
Oh what a day: today, today!
To live without, to share the shade.
A sliver of those could be ways.
~
Something lost, something found,
On this soggy bit of ground.
